The Jetpack plugin in WordPress offers one of the easiest ways for you to add a contact form to your site. With the new Gutenberg editor, it’s as easy as opening an existing page or creating a new one, then adding the Jetpack Form block.
But when you created a Jetpack form on your page before, you may have inadvertently put the wrong email address, or made a typo on the right one. This can lead to your contact form submissions going to the wrong place or, worse, not going anywhere at all. Fortunately you are able to edit the email address where your Jetpack contact form submissions go so that the right person is receiving them.
How to Change the Jetpack Form Submission Email Address
The steps in this article are going to show you how to edit the email address that receives form submissions for a particular form on your site. This assumes that this form was created with the Gutenberg block editor. If not, then your existing form is likely on your page as a shortcode. If so, you can simply edit the email address that appears in that shortcode, or you can delete the existing form and create a new one with the block editor.
Step 1: Sign into the admin section of your WordPress site at (yourdomain.com)/wp-admin.
Step 2: Hover over Pages in the left column, then choose All Pages.
Step 3: Select the page containing the form you wish to modify.
Step 4: Click in an open space next to the Submit button at the bottom of the form.
Step 5: Click inside the Email address field in the right column, delete the existing address, then enter the new one.
If you are done making changes to this page, click the Update button at the top-right of the window to apply the changes.
I typically like to send a test form submission after I edit my forms to make sure that everything is working properly and looks correct.
Another feature of the Jetpack plugin that you might want to test out is the cookie and consent banner. If you use cookies or tracking on your site and have visitors from Europe, then this is important for their GDPR privacy regulations.
