The menus within your WordPress dashboard include a lot of information. If you’re looking at the Posts menu, this will typically include things like the post title, author name, category, date, etc.
But there are probably additional options that you could be showing on that menu, including some that could be very helpful for the way that you create and edit posts. Our tutorial below will show you how to open the menu where you can choose additional options to add to this menu, and even remove some options that you don’t need.
The steps in this article were performed in the 5.1.1 version of WordPress. Note that the options to display on this menu can vary depending on what plugins you have installed on your site. For example, some of the options shown in the screens below are added there by the Yoast SEO plugin, which I have installed.
Step 1: Sign into the admin section of your website at (yourdomain.com)/wp-admin.
Step 2: Hover over the Posts option in the left column, then choose the All Posts option.
Step 3: Click the Screen Options dropdown menu at the top-right of the screen.
Step 4: Check the box to the left of each option you wish to show on this menu, then uncheck each option you don’t want. Click the Apply button when you’re done.
