How to Schedule a Post in WordPress 4.6.1

The WordPress content management system makes it easier than ever to add a new page or article to your website. The user interface for writing new posts is very similar to popular word-processing programs like Microsoft Word, and making that content live is literally as simple as clicking a button.

But occasionally you might write a post that needs to be published at a certain time in the future, and you would prefer not to rely on your own memory or calendar event to remind you to publish that post. Fortunately WordPress offers you the ability to schedule a post at a later point in the future, effectively letting you “set it and forget it.”

How to Schedule a WordPress Post to Go Live in the Future

Step 1: Navigate to the admin section of your WordPress site, then create a new post, or open an existing post draft that you would like to publish in the future.

Step 2: Click the Edit link to the right of Publish immediately in the Publish section at the right side of the window.

Step 3: Select the date and time at which you would like the post to be published, then click the OK button.

Step 4: Make any additional edits to the post content, then click the blue Schedule button at the right side of the window to schedule the post to be published.
