When you create a user on your WordPress site you can add a lot of information for that user.
This can include things like social media profiles, passwords, biographical information, and more. It also includes an email address.
Occasionally a WordPress user might need to receive an email. Whether it’s because their password is updated, or something they wrote has received comments, there are reasons for a user to input a valid email address. In fact, WordPress actually requires users to add their email addresses.
But if the email address for a current user is incorrect, then it may be necessary to update it.

The steps in this article were performed on a site running WordPress 5.9.3. I am doing this in the desktop version of the Google Chrome Web browser.
Note that you will need to be signed in as an Admin if you want to change the email address of another user.
Note that you will need to confirm the new email address. The new address won’t be active until it’s confirmed. This happens by sending a verification email with a link that needs to be clicked.
You (or whoever’s account you just updated) then just need to open the email account and complete the verification steps in the email they receive from the site.
The steps above are for changing a user’s email address.
if you are the only user of your WordPress site, then this can be a little confusing, as there is also an email address set when you click the Settings tab and go to the General page.
The email address listed under Settings > General is the site’s email address. This is where admin emails are sent, such as when plugins or WordPress versions are updated.
