The Jetpack plugin for WordPress includes a number of different features that can help you to customize your WordPress site. These features include things like downtime monitoring, which can alert you to when your site goes offline, as well as things like sharing buttons that your visitors can click to share your posts on social media.
But you might notice that there are only a couple of these sharing buttons appearing below your posts. This can limit your potential social reach, so you may decide that you would like to offer more sharing options. Our tutorial below will show you how to customize these Jetpack sharing buttons on your WordPress site so that you can offer all of the available social media buttons that you would like.
The steps in this article were performed in the 5.1.1 version of WordPress. I am also using the Jetpack plugin version 7.1.1. This guide will assume that you have already installed the Jetpack plugin, and that you have previously enabled the sharing buttons. If not, hover over the Jetpack tab in your admin section, choose Settings, click the Social tab, then enable the Add sharing buttons to your post option. Once that setting is enabled, continue below to find out how to add and remove sharing buttons.
Step 1: Sign into your site’s admin section at (yourdomain.com)/wp-admin.
Step 2: Hover over the Settings option in the left column, then choose the Sharing option.
Step 3: Drag buttons from the Available Services to Enabled Services section. Note that you can drag these buttons around to be in any order. You can also drag buttons that you don’t want from Enabled Services to Available Services.
Step 4: Scroll to the bottom of the menu and click the Save Changes button when you are done. Note that there are also options to change the button style and sharing label, if you would like to adjust those as well.
Do you need a simple contact form plugin on your site, but you are having trouble finding one you like? Find out more about Jetpack’s contact form and see if that meets your needs.
