While many people will decide to use Cloudflare because of the speed boost that it provides for a lot of sites, it is also a very effective security tool. It can block people trying to access your site from known bad neighborhoods, and it can provide protection if it notices that someone is trying to attack your site.

Occasionally, however, some innocent visitors could get caught up in this blocking, which might make it difficult or impossible for them to visit your site. This can happen if they try and access the site from a location with a troublesome public Wi-Fi network, or if they use a VPN that has previously been abused by someone else. How to Add an IP Address to Your Whitelist in Cloudflare

The steps in this article are going to have you adding an IP address to your whitelist. This IP address is the public IP address, which you can find by simply going to google.com and typing “what is my ip address” into the search field.

Step 1: Sign into your Cloudflare account at https://www.cloudflare.com.

Step 2: Select the website for which you wish to add someone to your whitelist.

Step 3: Click the Firewall button at the top of the window.

Step 4: Select the Tools option.

Step 5: Type the IP address into the IP address field, select Whitelist from the dropdown menu, select whether to whitelist this address for the current site or all of your sites, add a note (if desired) then click the Add button.
