How to Enable Auto Minify for Javascript, CSS or HTML in Cloudflare

The Cloudflare service that you can use for your website includes a lot of settings and tools that can make your website faster and more secure. Since speed is an important factor for getting your website’s pages to rank well, you may eventually start looking for ways to optimize it.

One of the ways that you can make your site load a little faster is to minify your Javascript, CSS, and HTML. Minifying your code involves removing characters in the code that are required for it to execute properly. While some WordPress plugins can do this, you can also take advantage of it if you have set up your site with Cloudflare. Our guide below will show you where to find this setting for your site on Cloudflare.

How to Turn on Auto Minify in Cloudflare

The steps in this guide assume that you have already set up your site with Cloudflare. If not, check out our guide for getting set up with Cloudflare.

Note that enabling auto-minify can cause certain elements of your site to stop functioning properly. If you enable it then notice that something is wrong with your site, you may need to come back to this menu and disable one or all of the auto-minify options.

Step 1: Head over to https://www.cloudflare.com and sign into your account.

Step 2: Click on the site for which you would like to enable the auto-minify option.

Step 3; Choose the Speed option at the top of the window.

Step 4: Check the boxes to the left of whichever auto-minify options you wish to enable.
